From April 1, the rooms of the church and the Doge's Antichiesetta, recently rested, will be presented to visitors through an original historical-artistic itinerary, that will lead the public to the discovery of "The Hidden Treasures of the Doge" in Palazzo Ducale.
The new route, can be accessed by reservation, unfolds in the Palace that borders the Basilica, just in the halls that were reserved to the Doge. The entrance, from the Gate of the Charter, with its marble decorations, direct you to the Loggia from which once doge overlooked during public holidays, and from which today visitors can admire the view that encompasses the entire area marciana . The route will enter then in the Loggia Foscari, curious plant insert Renaissance Gothic building which houses the treasure chests of State. From here we will proceed in the direction of the terrace roof, crossing a stretch of the Apartment of the Doge in which the supreme authority of the Venetian Republic was devoted to his private life and, by climbing a steep staircase on which "watches" the St. Christopher by Titian , you will reach the church and the Antichiesetta, painted chests in which the doge retired to pray and absolved practices confessional before turning to public life in the adjoining room of the Senate.
